Welcome to CCII's Love God's Word!

WORD FOR TODAY:
The world is responding with clean water, food, medical
supplies and rescue teams to the earthquake victims in Haiti.
It is a good time for all of us to take stock of our emergency supplies of drinking water, water for bathing and washing, and food which is safe for long-term storage.
Over the past year we have gathered and stored some water, food and medical supplies, but we must all be aware of the increasing need for such items and it is more obvious now than ever. We need to be prepared in case of disasters which can occur regardless of our location.
In the past nine years we have seen the tragedies of 9/11, hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, floods and freezing temperatures here in America. Low magnitude earthquakes have hit in several locations such as Washington, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Nevada...several in Alaska, Oklahoma, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Even during January alone, Oklahoma has experienced five quakes as of this writing.
People are storing heating supplies as well as power generators and extra fuel in case of power outages. Extra thought needs to be given to travel to safe places, outdoor shelter, securing property from looters, and battery powered radios and other means of communications. Better to be safe and prepared, than sorry!
Many people gathered for prayers after most of these disasters, and many Christian organizations rushed to help with the sick and wounded as well as rescue, cleanup and rebuilding. We are thankful for everyone who gave of time, money and effort in these times of crisis and loss. We are also very thankful to God for the protection and escape from injury and harm for many of His people who were alert and praying!
Emergency preparedness is not complete without a clean heart and clear means of communication with God. He is a “shelter in the time of storm,” and the peace that passes all understanding for those who trust in Him. In times of peace and seeming normalcy it is easy for people to forget about their need for God. Things of routine daily life seem to drown out God’s voice and the inner urgings of our soul to seek Him. When danger, illness or crisis occurs will you be ready to call on Him with a clear conscience?
“Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon” Isaiah 55: 6,7.
Love and Prayers,
Beth Ann Hardin
